Friends of the Disabled in Lebanon l’dad was founded in 1978 by Friends of the Disabled Association (FDA). It is an independent, non-profit and non-government organization. It was established by a group of parents of children with special educational needs, to provide support for SEN children and parents. The association has promoted family counseling, training and public awareness as to the rights of every child to an appropriate education. Simultaneously, Friends of the Disabled Association (FDA) is engaged in focusing on preventive measures and the viability of early intervention becoming accepted concepts and in the process, the Association helps families of less able children to maintain their unity and integrity. Through the organisation of field trips and other educational experiences to enhance capabilities and strengths, children can become more confident individuals.
Friends of the Disabled Association (FDA) has also been able to help SEN individuals to reach their full potential through special programs and vocational training allowing them to become productive members in the community.
