Skola International Trust for Special Education (SITSE)

Summer Closure: Please be advised that SITSE will be closed from 21st July 2008 to the 18th August 2008. The Trust Coordinator will answer e-mails and phone-calls again after these dates.

What is SITSE?

SITSE has been established as a trust in 2005. It promotes the inclusion of children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) into society through international, mainstream and special education by facilitating international mobility.

SITSE is committed to quality access and opportunity, the full realisation of the potential of young people with SEN and to extending opportunities to those limited by economic means.

What does SITSE do?

SITSE runs a number of innovative projects such as a school placement and therapy consultancy service. This service aims to support families who have to relocate to different parts of the world and need information about schools and therapists.

Unlike other consultancy agencies, SITSE functions as a non-profit organisation. In order to fulfil SITSE’s objectives, the trust aims to use funds raised to support carefully selected special educational needs projects or to provide scholarships for under-privileged children and young people with special educational needs.

What is SITSE’s Mission?

To promote and advance the education of children and young people up to the age of 25 years with special educational needs in particular but not
exclusively by:

  • promoting high quality standards and good practice in special needs education
  • developing and awarding a system of training and accreditation for those delivering special needs education and
  • providing of scholarships for children with special educational needs in financial need
